Privacy policy
This website sets no cookies and does not track visitors. The only personal information it receives is what you enter in the contact form, and we use it only to reply to you. This page describes how that information is handled.

What we collect
Nothing, unless you send us an enquiry. This website uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and it sets no cookies. Every font, icon and image is served from this domain, so no other company is told when you visit a page.
If you use the contact form, we receive what you typed into it: your name, your email address, your company, your phone number if you chose to give one, the subject you picked, and your message.
Three things are recorded alongside it, and none of them come from you:
- Your IP address
- The network address your request arrived from. It is used to limit how many times the form can be submitted from one place, which is what stops it being used to send bulk mail.
- The page you came from
- Only when that page is on this website. It tells us what you were reading before you wrote, which helps us reply.
- Whether it arrived unusually fast
- A form completed faster than a person could type is usually automated. The submission is still delivered, but it is marked.
Why we hold it
We use it only to read your enquiry and reply to it. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send you anything you did not ask for.
We hold the IP address only to count submissions, so that the form cannot be misused. It is not used to identify you or to build a profile.
Where it is stored
Your enquiry is stored in two places, both under our control.
It is emailed to our own mailbox, on our own hosting, over an authenticated and encrypted connection. It is also saved to a file on the same server, so that your enquiry is not lost if the mail server fails. That file is stored outside the public area of the website and cannot be reached from the web.
The counters used for the rate limit hold IP addresses and nothing else, and entries older than twenty four hours are discarded automatically.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while we are in contact with you, and afterwards for as long as we may reasonably need to refer to them. They are not kept indefinitely and are deleted periodically.
If you would like your enquiry removed sooner, ask us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Write to us and we will tell you what information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.
The quickest way is to use the email address below.
How it is protected
The website is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted between your browser and the server. The enquiry is then sent over an encrypted, authenticated connection to a mailbox we control.
The file that holds enquiries, and the credentials the form uses to send mail, are both stored outside the public area of the website, so neither can be requested from the web server.
No system is completely secure. To reduce the risk, this website collects as little personal information as possible.
Changes to this page
If the information we collect changes, we will update this page and the date shown at the top.
